TaoTronics Bluetooth Headphones – Wireless Ear Buds Review

Recently I bought TaoTronics bluetooth headphones off Amazon. I love listening to music while working out, but the cord of my earbuds kept getting in the way. This was my first experience with wireless earbuds.

Here’s the info the company provides on Amazon:

  • Perfect workout headphones that are snug and secure so the headphones stay put while running, biking or at the gym.
  • Built-in magnets let you attach the two headphones together when not using, and wear like a necklace around your neck, a convenient way to carry around when you don’t need them.
  • CVC noise Isolation technology reduces outside noises, enable clearer microphone sound.
  • Long battery life allows the headphones to play up to 5 hours of continuous music at a time or 175 hours of standby time.
  • Earbuds that work with all smartphones, tablets and music players. Latest Bluetooth 4.1 technology; easy and fast pairing with smartphones, tablets and other Bluetooth enabled music devices; aptX codec provides pure, CD-like high quality sound for compatible devices.

Why’d I Buy Them?

Great question! I bought them because the reviews were largely favorable. The battery life was decent, and you can pause and adjust the volume.

My Experience

My initial impression was a good one. The packaging these came in was great. The instruction clear. The ear buds were easy to set up and use.

I wore them while working out. I do interval workouts, which involve me often switching from running to doing burpees and push ups. These stayed in my ears the whole time. They were comfortable and they could pick up my iphone from a good range. I even went to the bathroom and they only cut out slightly. I’m not sure about battery life yet as this was my first use. I’ll report back with more data after using them for a longer period of time.

I’m Not Slurring I’m Speaking in Cursive – Funny Wine Glass Review

In searching for a funny gift idea for my sister, I came across this wine glass on Amazon.com. It says “I’M NOT SLURRING I’M SPEAKING IN Cursive”. Check it out below:

What I loved about this glass: It’s BIG. 16 ounces holds a good amount of wine. My sister’s a total lush… what can I say? It arrived in the mail two days after I ordered with my Amazon Prime account. It was in a great white gift box and came in one piece. For her gift, I decided to pair this with her favorite wine (Concord..which I highly recommend if you like sweet wines) and give it to her as a gift set.

How To Cheer Up Your Mom

How to cheer up your mom

  1. Ask what is wrong – You never truly know what’s wrong with mom unless you ask. Don’t assume you know why mom is upset. Instead you may want to say “Mom, I notice you seem a little down. What’s wrong?”
  2. Offer to help – If mom is upset about something you can help with, offer to assist her. Perhaps she is feeling overwhelmed by all the things she needs to do. You could offer to do some of the household chores for her or run much needed errands.
  3. Express empathy – When mom tells you what is wrong, it can be helpful if you offered some words of support. For example, you could say “That sounds really tough mom. I love you and I’m here for you.”
  4. Give mom a hug – A simple hug can offer comfort for mom.
  5. Help distract her – You can help mom take her mind off her problems by asking her to dinner, inviting her to the movies, or having a game night.

Comforting A Friend

How to comfort a friend

  1. Show affection – Sometimes our words escape us, but really one of the most effective things you can do is non-verbal. You can show your friend affection and comfort by putting your arm around his or her shoulders or offering a hug.
  2. Listen – Simply listening to your friend’s problems can be highly effective. We advice to simply listen and not try to solve your friend’s problems.
  3. Validate feelings – Validate your friend’s feelings. Some simple statements, such as “that must be so difficult” or “I can understand why you’d feel that way”, can provide your friend with a lot of comfort during a difficult time.
  4. Help with basic needs – When on is upset, it can be hard to take care of the basics. You can help your friend by making sure he or she gets enough to eat , encouraging rest and relaxation, and providing much needed tissues.
  5. Give them space – Sometimes a friend will need space instead of constant contact. If your friend says he or she wants to be alone, they are probably telling the truth.
  6. Ask how you can help – One of the easiest ways to know how to comfort your friend is to simply ask him or her what they need from you. You can’t be expected to read their mind. Maybe they needs space or perhaps they want ice cream and their favorite movie. You’ll never know unless you ask.

How to get along with your sister

Step 1 – Breathe
Step 2 – Set Boundaries
Step 3 – Focus on the present
Step 4 – Engage in positive activities

  1. Breathe – When you feel anger arising, find a quiet place, take a deep breath, and gather your thoughts. This will give you time to think before you speak.  Try to focus on the current conflict at hand.
  2. Set boundaries – A lot of conflict can arise due to lack of boundaries. Try to communicate clearly and non-defensively your boundaries.
  3. Focus on the present – If you have an issue to discuss with your sister, focus on the current issue only. It can be tempting to discuss past grievances, but this will only make your sister more defensive and the conversation unproductive.
  4. Engage in positive activities together – You and your sister probably have more in common than you realize. Try choosing a positive activity you both enjoy and do it together.
